2025 KTM 450SXF TESTED
#motocrosss #review
The 2025 KTM 450SXF is officially here! The frame has received the most significant updates, with visible cutouts and tube-wall thickness changes around the front, engine mounts, and rear shock mounting areas. We know all about this bike because we've been riding and racing on the 2024-1/2 KTM 450SXF Factory Edition, which has all the same major updates as this one, plus some extra factory edition goodies. In this video, MXA's Josh Mosiman talks about the new bike after a day of testing at Glen Helen.

No embarrassment needed to start with! Gnarly to qualify on any bike, so props there. But, with that said... You might have the worst body position and form ever to qualify in the modern era. That could be a compliment or hate however you take it. 1 = worst form possible, and still get the job done like a real life goon rider. 2 = extreme raw speed with huge balls but no idea what your'e doing.

THERE'S ROUGH AND THEN THERE'S RUTS. RUTS SUCK BECAUSE THEY CREATE ONE FYCKED UP, BLOWN OUT TRACK THAT RIDERS CAN'T GET OUT OF AND PREVENT PASSING. THIS IS NOT MOTOCROSS! IT'S RUT RACING FOR THISE THAT CAN'T PERCIEVE USING THE WHOLE RACE TRACK. UN DUG TRACKS REPRESENT THE TRUE OUTDOORS AND RUTS WOULDN'T DEVELOP THAT DEEP LEAVING THE MAJORITY OF THE TRACK OPEN FOR PASSING! I WOULDN'T RACE ON TRACKS THAT HAVE BEEN RIPPED DEEP BECAUSE RUT RACING IS NOT MY IDEA OF OUTDOORS MOTOCROSS! THE FUCKING WORTHLES SANCTIONING BODY SHOULD ENLIST A "RUT" SERIES WHERE THE TRACKS ARE RIPPED 6 FEET DEEP AND THE RUTS SCULPTED AND BAKED IN THE SUN TO MAKE THEM AS HARD AS CONCRETE. THEN YOU WILL HAVE REDUCED MOTOCROSS TO INDOOR SLOT BIKE RACING, IN A BUILDING....

Awesome content as always, love your reviews. Looks like you were enjoying letting it all hang out too. 🤘😎 Next video… the 25 2Strokes 😁 calls for 150/2 a good one… very interested in this. 😎 Another AER fork fan here… spring cones on my old 15 300EXC and AER on my 23 300SX, love them both for different reasons. The AER forks are great in the dunes, full attack, max holdup and big bomb holes, no probs. 👌

It is amusing to me seeing KTM go back-and-forth between stiffer chassis and more flexible chassis I remember at a point they had it just right and KTM was winning all of the shootout, but then they wanted to go stiffer to try to be like the aluminum frame and it’s been downhill since

Funny the bias everyone has because the Japanese brands couldn’t figure out air. i got back into riding after missing the whole air fork fiasco. Had a 2019 KTM…terrible, and a 2021 KTM…fantastic. I have 24 350 after selling a 23 YZ450. The KTM forks are just as good as the YZ in vet A racing and easily better than any other brand. I revalved the YZ front and back because they didn’t work together. The KTM is way better out of the box. I have zero complaint with the KTM forks. I also have a 300SX and they are even better on that. I think the YZ shock was better stock than the KTM but the forks are a push IMO. Anyone complaining hasn’t ridden the 2021 and later AER. They work better than the YZ in most cases except big landings where the KYB just go dead and soak it up. Even my track buddies concede the forks are as good or better compared to all their fancy revalved spring forks of various brands. $$$$$ All said they wouldn’t change the KTM at all. You can always get better performance if you spend huge money. But you can’t change minds of the convicted.

I have a 2023 FC 250 and have purchased the connectivity unit for my bike. I got the unit without the GPS for around $160USD. I wanted to share with everyone that is considering getting one for their 2023 or 2024 non factory edition bikes, that you have to take your bike to the dealership for them to update your ECU for it to be compatible with the connectivity unit. They don't tell you this when you purchase the connectivity unit and there is zero information on this online that I could find. You will be able to connect the connectivity unit to your phone and bike, but you will NOT be able to upload custom maps to the bike until you get your ECU updated by the dealership. I found this out by calling the KTM customer service line. I wanted to share this in hopes I could help others not go through the difficulties I did if they are considering buying the connectivity unit for your 2023 or 2024 bikes.

It makes no sense on a smooth track. It's not motocross. And in fact, only on a real motocross track do you understand why ´mx bikes have aluminum frames :D As you said yourself Josh. MotoGP, SBK, if you want to ride on a smooth track that never changes. Motocross is rough and that makes riding interesting and actually safer. Without deep ruts and hard bumps, it's not a mx but some kind of colourful parade

Yz 125 or 250 are the most fun bikes money can buy. These days I’m very happy with my honda XR 4 stroke trail bike, but I totally understand that there is nothing quite like riding a 2 stroke. The powerband is a pure adrenaline rush. Even if it’s slower than a 4stroke it feels faster. I’m a big guy and riding a yz 125 still makes me feel like a kid again. I think just by nature of the engine and the way they run, it changes the whole experience. I love a 125 because you can push it to its absolute limit and you have to work the engine to go fast. And that sound is just heavenly. You feel in tune with the bike.
